Ariane H.A.T.S is a family-owned company that has been designing, manufacturing, and selling women’s and men’s hats since 1991.

Azita was born in Iran and spent most of her formative years in Tehran. From an early age, she was fascinated with fashion design. In junior high school, with no formal training, she began to design her own clothes. At the age of 15, she was asked to design the costumes for a dance production at her school.

She never lost interest for design, but Ariane did choose a different path for her university-level studies. In 1975, she attained her BA in English Literature. In 1976, Ariane moved to the U.S., and has lived there ever since. She went on to pursue her MA in Early Childhood Education, and quickly after an ED S in Teenage Counseling. She went on to work at group homes for emotionally-handicapped teenagers. After 10 years of this work, Ariane decided a career change was in order.

Ariane decided to return to school at the Otis Parsons School of Design. At Parsons, Ariane studied fashion design, with a specialty in the art of millinery. After graduating from Parsons in 1991, Ariane started her own business in ladies’ hats. She sold nationally and internationally, and was represented in trade shows worldwide.
